Fawn-Doe-Rosa & Interstate State Park

We took a family outting trip to Fawn-Doe-Rosa in St. Croix Falls, WI. If you’ve never been to or heard of a petting zoo, you might be confused. FDR is a pretty nifty place and Joseph absolutely LOVED it. He turned 14 months old yesterday and once he realized there was more to the place than a couple rocks in the road, he really got a kick out of feeding the sheep and goats. after walking by all the sleeping caged animals (mountain lions, badger, timberwolf, etc. – i guess our timing was a little off to see those guys active). we got to the whitetail deer portion which had 3 stunning bucks. check out the photos of Katie feeding a couple of those deer with the amazing racks (i wouldn’t mind catching one of these in the woods in November)!

After the petting zoo, Katie and i went to Interstate State Park by ourselves (Joseph went back with Grandma and Grandpa Mertz, so she and i could get some adult time). We walked a bunch of the trails – Katie took some really nice photos along the walk… check em out:
