Insanity – Day 52: Max Cardio Conditioning

i think Insanity is setup specifically to punish me. it seems as though every time i miss a workout for whatever reason, i come back to a conditioning/endurance workout. with most of the workouts, there is a work/rest ratio of 6:1 (usually work 3 minutes rest 30 seconds)… with the conditioning workouts, there is a slight pause between exercises whilst Shawn T explains the next exercise, but that’s the only rest you get (not counting the self-made pauses because your head is spinning or your knee just gave out). my punishment has been served. i didn’t get up early yesterday – had a late softball game and after the fit test on monday, it just wasn’t happening. i was SORE all day yesterday and again, i go to the workout aching. it’s a beautiful thing and it reminds me that i’m still alive – and being alive is a good thing. at least it’s something i strive to accomplish on a daily basis. tomorrow the battle begins anew!

eat less… hmmm

Insanity – Day 16: Plyometric Cardio Circut

i’m not sure going back and doing some of the first month workouts was such a good idea… i thought they’d be a lot easier… and all that has happened so far has been me remembering the exercises that i’d loathed for an entire month and had conveniently forgotten about (i.e. mummy kicks and mountain climbers). either i’m in better shape and able to push myself or the last month has been a HUGE setback. there are two weeks left for me, and a fit test on monday to kick off the final stretch, so that will be the final answer for that question. as for catch up week, i got two workouts in from the first month. and we’ll get back into the swing of things on monday – back into the Max workouts following the fit test.

after yesterday’s workout, my calves and feet were just achin’. needless to say, this workout didn’t help that situation too much. the calves are still tighter than spandex on a fat guy. but as i’v always said, it sure feels good to break into that dripping sweat and be all done with a solid workout.

we had it printed on USD Track tshirts back in the day

Insanity – Day 3: Cardio Power & Resistance

no, your eyes are not deceiving you. i finally got my fat @$$ out of bed in the morning and got a workout in. instead of jumping back into the Max workouts and pretty much dying, i figured it would be a good idea to catch up on some of the first month workouts that i missed back in april and may. so filling in the gap i left in the first week, i got the Cardio Power and Resistance workout done from Day 3. with the thought of tomorrow doing the Plyometric Cardio Circuit from day 10. and because i’ve not done much of anything the last couple weeks, this kicked my butt! doing power squats in the warmup was tough, my knees weren’t fully warmed up until the 2nd round of warmups. this workout wasn’t as bad as i remembered – those Max workouts definitely put these workouts into perspective. fit test on monday… that should be interesting.
