About this

it might just save your life someday.

addition

July 28th, 2006

you’d think that once the honeymoon was over and all those gifts are put away - life would be fairly ‘normal’ (of course, i’m using that term VERY loosely here)… but no - things are crazy busy - i’ll use that as my excuse for not posting more frequently, that and the fact that i’m not sure how those ‘daily bloggers’ do it. i can barely even read a series of blogs, although, i am getting pretty good at reading a handful of online comics i’ve grown to become quite fond of.

what’s new? hmmm - katie and i got a puppy! yep. a 9MO chocolate lab. she is a darling lil precious! her name is cocoa - i didn’t name her and when we got her, it was a little to late to be changing her name (cuz that’d just confuse her). but we’re pretty excited about her. we figure, if we can keep the dog alive for 3 years, then we might be ready for kids… you think?

so how’d we get her? well, a buddy of mine is moving to go back to skool. he can’t take her with and we was talkin one day - he said he needs to find a good home for her. i told her, i know of a home that needs a good dog… and presto - a puppy is brought to our house a couple weeks later. cocoa is a very good puppy/dog - although still a lil mischieveous. we brought her home almost three weeks ago and she went into her first heat the night we got her home (or at least she started leaking right when we got her home). so a trip to the pet store for a doggy diaper and some treats and toys and food later, we have our dog and she’s made the transition well. we get her out and about when we can - with the heat we’ve been careful lately. she’s spoiled and she’s much loved. a pretty good fit. i can’t wait until this fall to see how she hunts. she’s fairly good with a ball and we’re all learning each other still. katie is actually getting quite annoyed cuz cocoa always follows me and brings her toys to me (even when katie throws them for her) - i just think it’s funny. i’ll get some photos up soon…

other than that, not too much is going on - football season has started - so check the football page for the latest goings on there. we’re currently 1-1. we lost a close one the first game and we won last week in superior. i had a lot of family show up for that game, that was cool. i likes me a good solid fan base! :)

this weekend we’ve got a tough game and hopefully we’ll have our first game with a full offensive oline (hasn’t happened so far, which makes things difficult - hence the crappy first couple of games statwise), course, we will be without our offensive coordinator - there’s always something! cripes! if you’re in the cities on the south side - you should try to make a trip over to Holy Angels Academy in Richfield - prolly round 200pm, cuz that’s when and where our game is!

i promise i’ll try to post more oftenerly…

back

July 6th, 2006

hey kids - we’re back from the honeymoon - yeah, we’ve been back for a week and a half, but cripes things been busy. the honeymoon was AWESOME!!! if EVER you get a chance to head up to the north shore - go. it is absolutely beautiful up there. i’ll have to add a photo gallery to this here website for that reason alone - yeah, i’ll get to it when i find some free time HA HA HA HA…

so far the married life is pretty cool. we’ve managed not to kill each other these two and a half weeks, i consider it progress. so now we’re back to ‘the grind’. katie started up her job at the chiro office and she’s really liking it - plus, she’s also working at the WestWind, bartending and such. and now she’s gotta take care of her husband! she’s a busy girl and honestly, i do not know how she does it. she amazes me more and more each day.

this was a goofy couple of weeks, got back on monday last week and the shortened week was nice - then there’s this week, which is over half over. last weekend, the first weekend i didn’t go up to the cabin for the 4th in like forever, was pretty nice. i went fishing saturday and then ref’d my first football game - that was interesting, but fun. and then sunday katie and i went shopping - i don’t like shopping, but we did get some fishing gear, so that makes it almost okay. we are also getting a new bed - sweet. had to get a new frame and all that jazz for the new bed, so we got that taken care of. monday, i had to work cuz i’ve got like -2 days of vacation until july 2007 - and i wish i was joking there, but i’m not. post work, which wasn’t much of a working day anyway, neumann and i went and hit the front nine at the RF golf club and then went to join in some festivities at scotty’s place. now, i’ve not been up late/early in quite a while… but we finally called it a night at about 4am - it’s been a while since i’ve seen 4am (TWG night, prolly). the best part is, we got to wake up at 9am-ish to go to katie’s Godson’s birthday party (are you sposed to capitolize the ‘G’ in “Godson”? or is it just ‘godson’??). after that, we came home and took a nap - katie had to work last night, so when she went to work, i got up and worked on a website - i’m building a site for DrAmy and Horizon Family Chiropractic. this is also where katie works, so it’s kinda fun - we have a working relationship along with the personal relationship… pretty cool, huh?

tonight we had our last practice before our first game - first game july 8th!!! i think i got my schedule updated on this site - with me working on the T-Birds site and the MFL site i’m not sure how many times i’ve updated schedules and rosters and whatnot… cripes. but it’s fun i enjoys it. NEway, the point is it’s 12am and that might be early for some… but it’s been a long day and it’s sleepy time. piece out.

it’s official

June 18th, 2006

it’s all done, we’re married. the wedding was wonderful and the reception a blast.

katie and i would like to thank each and every person for coming out and sharing our special day. i know we missed thanking a lot of people at the reception - we’re only two people and there was soooo many friends and family, a sign of how truely blessed we are to have so many people supporting us.

we finished opening our gifts and then we took a nap, a much needed nap, this afternoon. now we have to find a place for all the goodies we got. i think we’re going to need a bigger house - thanks again, everyone!

for all of those who were unable to attend, you were missed, but not forgotten. thank you for the many thoughts and prayers.

now, i must attend to the needs of my wife :)

just around the corner

June 12th, 2006

and yes i am excited! and NO i am not nervous. i guess i just don’t get the nervous thing. i mean, i’ve known for a while now that this girl (katie) is amazing and i haven’t given it a second thought since i’ve asked her to marry me last summer.

to all those who are coming from a distance to join katie and i on saturday - specially those traveling some distances - travel safe, you don’t wanna miss the fun by being stuck in a hospital or something goofy like that.

to all those who didn’t get an invite, i guess you just aren’t a part of the cool club and i pretty much just converse with you because a) it’s a part of my job/coaching duties b) sometimes, i’m nice enough to lower my standards 3) you are unavoidable. and of course, i’m kidding. we were limited as to who we could invite due to space reasons, and that cost thing too.

but if you would like to join in the festivities, please join katie and i.

River Falls Golf Club
River Falls, WI
8:00pm

sally and crew: don’t say i didn’t make the effort, but this is all the invite you’re going to get.

this also means i’ll be out on the honeymoon next week, so at least THEN i’ll have an excuse as to why i’m not blorging more oftenerly.

update

June 5th, 2006

well, i was planning on doing an actual blog whilst away on the cruise - cuz that might be fairly entertaining… however, it was gonna cost me $.75/minute even with my own computer… so i nixed that in a hurry. so yes, i actually did went an entire week without internet. an impressive feat, no doubt. and it only took me until about 3:30 the first day back at work to ‘view’ (not completely read, but view) all the emails i got whilst i was away. and now, i’m leaving in about 7 hours to go to Reedsburg, WI for a staff meeting for the rest of the week… another chance for me to fall behind in the game of wurk.

well, for all interested, the cruise was most excellent, good times and i would go in a heartbeat again if given the chance. we went on the carnival cruise lines and sailed on the ship ‘victory’. i would go into further detail, and i might yet, but i’ve got to pack for the week still and i have some photo scanning to do before i try to get an hour or two of shuteye before i have to leave (luckily i’m not driving - at least i hope not).

right now life is crazy busy. katie has started the wurking thing at her new job and she’s still doing stuff for the wedding (how much is there to do for these things, cripes!!!!). katie and i are a host couple for a friend of mine who’s getting married next week - so she’s been basically doing a wedding, helping with another one, working two jobs, dealing with me and still trying to de-stress herself after a crazy final semester of skool. if you have a second or twelve, say a word of prayer for her. she could probably sleep for a week right now, but she continues to plug along - she amazes me.

11 days… wow, tis almost here already!

permission to come aboard

May 20th, 2006

well kids, i just wanted to say bon voyage - as i’ll be boarding a plane and then a boat this weekend. katie and i are goin on a celebratory cruise of weekly proportions (a gift to katie for that graduation thing). i’s bout to grab some eatsies and we be leaving soonly time.

excited is an understatement

i been meaning to write about this for a couple days now. i think the idea of making English the national language of the United States of America is an excellent idea. i’ve always been annoyed when i have to wait for another set of instructions in spanish. and the idea that people can come into this great country and think that for one second they’ve never left home - is, when you get right down to it, a slap in the face. now, when i heard that the morons in the senate are actually doing something that might piss off some people who are trying to move their country here in all it’s (un)glory - and someone turns around and calls it ‘racist’. how the crap is that racist? when i go to france, i expect to 1) know some french 2) know someone who does know french c) expect to get mocked for not knowing french. either way, i’m not going to expect everyone in france to speak english. same with every other country. know the language or prepared to get lost. the only other ‘language’ i want to see menus in - in this greatest country on God’s green earth - is braille. and making english the national language is not racist. don’t try to play ‘the race card’ with everything that is somewhat controversial. “can’t we all just get along?” no, apparently we can’t - and it’s not the white man holdin all the minorities down. it’s all the minorities still thinking there is a glass ceiling. stop making excuses, get off your lazy minority @$$, get a job, know english, get an education, make yourself useful and we’ll all be better off.

man, i hate stupid people

aaaarrrrgghhh

May 16th, 2006

so i just watched the season finale of the office… for those who might’ve missed it, i won’t ruin anything - cuz it’s a great show, and i don’t wanna be that guy. but cripes! when does the next season start???

hey lookie here, two days in a row were i done posted somethin. still not much to say, but i do have some ‘chores’ to take care of. piece out!

i do think katie and i screwed up and we should’ve hired scratonocity for our wedding.

an update!

May 15th, 2006

well, i got yelled at from my cousin for not updating my own site, so here’s an update! i spose it’s the least i can do for him, now that he’s a kangaroo wrangler.

i really don’t have a ton of stuffs to say. i been kinda busy. katie graduated from the college stuffs this weekend so we had the rents over for dinner on saturday and then they came over sunday for the mommy’s day festivities - we grilled some burgers and played some games. good times.

this weekend katie and i are leaving for a little vacation - her graduation present. we done be goin on a cruise to the caribbean. yeah, woe is me! :) we were looking at a couple things about the ship and looking at the amenities that are provided as part of the package… should be a good time.

football’s gonna be starting up here pretty soon. we’ve got our first game the weekend following the 4th of july. and so we’ll be having our practices startin up here pretty soon. good times.

oh, yeah, and i guess that wedding thing is comin up soon - 32 days away. she doesn’t know yet what she’s gettin herself into - and SSSSHHHHHH, don’t tell her anything. (course, this might not work too well as she’s reading this as i type… but still, SSSSHHHHH don’t tell her anything). and she wants me to change the ‘oh, yeah’ part, but i’m not gonna cuz i don’t have to and she can’t make me!!! muaha ha ha

well, dave - hope you enjoy the update.

whoa it’s been a while

April 25th, 2006

so here i is typin away at katie’s future home of work place stuffs. i’ve been helping DrAmy the chiropractor for which she will be working when she’s done with skool. i’ve also been workin on a new website for said chiropractor (DCHorizon.net). just a temporary splash screen now, cuz i’m waitin for some content from DrAmy before we go live with the site. i’m sure i’ll let you know when it goes live (haven’t i for all the other sites??)

let’s see what else is goin on… the wedding is still on, invitations are on their way… if you haven’t gotten one, that should say something ;) just kidding, to most.

playin da football (at least) one more year, with the Central Minnesota Thunderbirds. from the sounds of things, we should have a pretty decent team again this year - but as with every semi-pro season i’ve been a part of - it will be another interesting year.

that’s the big stuffs for now - i’ll work at gettin things updated a lil more currently, but i’m actually helpin with that wedding stuffs… that takes time away from fun times. whatcha gonna do?? till next time…
