Insanity – Day 46: Max Recovery

so it appears as though my counting of days was slightly askew yesterday (day 45 not 44 – now corrected). but whatcha gonna do? today i hit the snooze one extra time because i knew the Max Recovery workout was a lil bit shorter. and apparently, i thought that was such a good idea, i hit it again thinking the same thing! i just don’t know why i do that thinking in the morning – it really never turns out to be a good idea.

Max Recovery – a bitch of a workout. how i can sweat that much without moving hardly at all is amazing. and while i do appreciate the soreness at times, i am about ready to be over this phase of workouts :)

Insanity – Day 45: Max Interval Circuit

so i did the Max Interval Plyo yesterday (today’s workout), so i did yesterday’s workout (Max Interval Circuit) today! i’m really feeling the effects of Monday’s workout – first day back soreness. i usually really get the muscle aches two days after coming back and this time round is no different. the calves were tight, the hips and knees didn’t get loose until half way through the workout and my lats are sore as all hell.

that’s the goofy thing about these workouts and the mentality of an athlete. why do i do it? why do i put up with all the pain, soreness and exhaustion? cuz i like being pushed, i like being challenged and i LOVE overcoming the adversity of the tough workouts. now my mental being does hold me back to some degree but that’s just another challenge for me to conquer. all this pain and slight discomfort, well, it let’s me know i’m alive. and that’s not touching on the obvious health benefits being in shape offers. i’ll save that for another day.

Insanity – Day 44: Max Interval Plyo

yesterday, i had the day off so i was able to get the workout done in the afternoon – today, it’s back to the grind – back to workouts early in the AM. it’s much different when it’s early. it’s a lot more tired when it’s early. but it gets the day started off the right way. Max Interval Plyo – a tough workout, welcoming me back. a regular routine, i’ve found, is very important for me. and i hope to get back into said routine. 18 more days of insanity. and i just looked at the calendar – i did the wrong workout today. i was supposed to do the Max Interval Circuit. Looks like i’ll be doing that tomorrow – something to look forward to!
